SS24 - Controversy About Who Will Run And Who Lives Where
There have been comments on this blog as well as on the Ohio Daily Blog.
BayVillage makes the assertion on both blogs that Rosemary Palmer doesn't live in the 24th state senate district.
A little research on the Secretary of State's website shows that Palmer is registered to vote in the 21st state senate district.
Anthony Fossaceca essentially counters that she lives in two places in Cuyahoga County, Ward 15, which is in the 21st State Senate district, and in Bay Village, which by looking at the data (I'm not familiar with Cuyahoga County) is in the 24th State Senate district.
Fossaceca also states that Palmer is registered to vote in Bay Village but if that is the case, then it must have happened since April 10th, the date the data was pulled and sent to the Secretary of State's website. The SOS website is clear that she's registered only in the 21st State Senate district.
Now I just went out to look at the Cuyahoga County BOE website to see what it said and it requires a birth date to look someone up and the SOS just recently stopped posting birth dates and now just do birth years (a good idea) so I cannot look her up on the BOE website.
It is clear, and understandable that BayVillage and now just recently commenter Carrie are supporting George Diamantis for this seat.
Whomever is actually chosen to carry the battle to the November election will have to move very, very quickly as we are now under 200 days until November 4th. The candidate will be facing a sitting State Representative, Thomas Patton, who recently filed $40,624.63 cash on hand.
We'll be watching the struggle with interest.
